Abstract:
The finite element analysis software ABAQUS is adopted to make the elastic-plastic analysis on the irregular joint with different beam depths in a steel frame. Based on designing and analyzing on the angle of an exterior reinforcing ring, the reasonable design method of the irregular joint with an exterior reinforcing ring is proposed. Then the effect of the span-depth ratio of the beam on the shear capacity of the irregular joint and the distribution of the stress is demonstrated. Basedon the analysis for the shear-shear angle curves of the joints with different angles of the exterior reinforcing ring and different beam depths, the results show that the angle of the exterior reinforcing ring has little effect on the shearing capacity of the joint. In order to make the construction convenient, the paper suggests that

αl=180°. With the increase of the depth ration between the left beam and the right one, the rigidity increases. Thusly, the change of the depth ratios has a considerable influence on the deformation and distribution of the stress in the joint region.
