Abstract:
Research progresses of seismic performance of structures subjected to long-duration ground-motions were reviewed. Definitions and characteristics of long-duration ground-motions were expounded. Research progresses of numerical simulation, experimental research and theoretical analysis of structures subjected to long-duration ground-motions were introduced, and research progresses of ductility, energy dissipation capacity, seismic fragility, and collapse resistance capacity of structures subjected to long-duration ground-motions were reviewed. On this basis, research progresses of seismic design methods of structures subjected to long-duration ground-motions were summarized, and the methods in structural seismic design codes considering the long-duration ground-motion effects were summarized. In addition, research on the seismic performance of structures subjected to long-duration ground-motions was prospected. It is recommended that seismic responses of structures subjected to long-duration ground-motions should be paid more attention. It is suggested to perform further study on the definitions and characteristics of long-duration ground-motions. To study the seismic responses, seismic fragility, and collapse resistance capacity of structures subjected to long-duration ground-motions, the numerical simulation, theoretical analysis, and experimental research methods of structures are suggested to be improved. This paper provides references for seismic design and assessment of structures considering the long-duration ground-motion effects.
