Abstract:
The proportion of earthquake losses of nonstructural components far exceeds structure has become a new phenomenon of earthquake damage in recent years. However, the research on the floor design spectrum for the seismic design of nonstructural components in China is not sufficient. By selecting 1300 floor acceleration time history data recorded by 81 structures in CESMD (center for engineering strong motion data) strong earthquake database, studied the amplification law of peak acceleration amplification factor along the height of various structures. The results show that: GB 50011−2010 seriously underestimates the floor acceleration response for various structures; in GB 50011−2010 and ASCE 7-16 codes, the value of component amplification factor is seriously small for short periodic nonstructural components, and too conservative for long periodic nonstructural components. At the same time, in view of the fact that the relevant parameters in the current code cannot well reflect the acceleration amplification characteristics of nonstructural components, a floor design spectrum is proposed with a view towards considering the impact of the structure and different input ground motions, which can be better used for the seismic analysis of nonstructural components.
