Abstract:
Reviewed were crux elements of finite element models for deck pavement, encompassing model assumptions, boundary conditions, and load configurations. And summarized were the design methodology for deck pavement materials and structures based on the finite element method. The review elucidates the current hotspots and prospects in the finite element analysis and application of deck pavements. Research progress of finite element simulation and application of deck pavement indicates that there is a requirment for further enriching the content of finite element design. To enhance the reliability of simulation results, efforts should be directed towards the analyses of displacement boundary conditions, of the validation through studies on stochastic dynamic loads, of deepening simulations of temperature fields, and of the refinement in the study of rut depth. It is essential for the progress in the integrated development process of bridge structures and deck pavement design, in the practical experiments and finite element analysis, as well as in the material technology innovation and construction quality control. It is imperative to strengthen the standardization of model assumption, of design process, and of design objective, so as to facilitate the breakthroughs in finite element analysis of deck pavements.
