Abstract:
Currently, the acceleration time history correlation coefficient has been regulated in the structural seismic code for Chinese nuclear engineering based on the relevant foreign technical standard. However, the validation analyses based on the actual data are lacked. Furthermore, the correlation between the velocity time history and the correlation between the displacement time history have not been regulated in the current seismic code. To address aforementioned issues, the Chinese ground motion time history correlation was analyzed via Butterworth non-causal filter method and via ground motion acceleration time history correlation analysis method. It is found that correlation coefficients calculated upon the Chinese ground motion time history are higher than the limit specified in the code. The results show that: the limit specified in the Chinese code meets the independence requirement, which means the regulations on the acceleration time history correlation in NUREG-0800 are also available for the Chinese ground motion acceleration time history, and however aforementioned regulations are relatively strict. Additionally, the correlation between the velocity time history and the correlation between the displacement time history have been considered, which provides a reference for ground motion selection in the time history analysis of nuclear engineering structures.
