Abstract:
Prantle model is adopted to simulate the behavior of the ground slope face under earthquake excitations. The computation of earth pressure is extended to dynamic cases from static cases by the help of seismic coefficient. By employing pseudo-stastic approach and the method of limit equilibrium, the approximate solution of seismic bearing capacity of strip foundation is derived. The factors affecting the seismic bearing capacity are discussed. The seismic bearing capacity depends on inner friction angle, as well as horizontal and vertical seismic coefficient. The analyzing results are compared with some published results finally.
