Abstract:
As an important issue in the design of long span cable-stayed structures, the vibration behavior of inclined cables affects the mechanical characteristics of the overall structure. This paper presents a precise model with the consideration of interactions between pylons, cables and the spatial structure to investigate the parametric vibration of the inclined cables. It focuses on the influence factor and its effects on the parametric vibration. Physical analysis for the mechanism of the parametric vibration of the cables is also illustrated. The correlative results can provide basic guidelines for the design of cable-stayed structures and beneficial suggestions to suppress and control the occurrence of the parametric vibration.
