Abstract: In this paper, based on the bending displacement functions of the generalized conforming quadrilateral plate element LGC-Q12 and LSL-Q12, two geometrically nonlinear generalized conforming quadrilateral plate elements are formulated. A comparison of the performance of the two elements is made through the numerical analysis of the large deflection behaviour of clamped circular plate, elliptical and skew plate.
