Abstract:
Ice-coated transmission conductor galloping causes serious harmful to power transmission towers, the present research on galloping mostly adopts complex numerical simulation. The numerical wind tunnel technology based on CFD numerical simulation was used to study the aerodynamic characteristics of ice-coated transmission conductors. A spring- transmission line model, in which the spring was used to copy the actions of the tower to transmission conductors, was established and a nonlinear viscosity damper model was used to simulate the aerodynamic characteristics of ice-coated transmission conductors, based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The explicit finite element simulation method was used and galloping analysis was carried out. Based on the proposed model, a simplified calculation method of transmission conductors galloping was proposed and verified. And also based on the Haimen-Shantou 500kV long-span power transmission tower line project, the simplified calculation of transmission conductors galloping was performed.
