Abstract:
Static loading tests of 6 specimens of square steel tubes filled with steel reinforced high-strength concrete were carried. Test parameters were axial force ratio, shear-span ratio and steel reinforced ratio. Results showed that the capacity rise with the increase of the axial force ratio and steel reinforced ratio. The bearing capacity increased rapidly and shear fracture became more and more obvious with the decrease of the shear-span ratio. Formulas for the capacity of compression-bending-shear members and boundary shear span ratio were proposed through analyzing the calculated results from the finite element method. The calculated results were in good agreement with the test ones.
