Abstract:
Recently, with the development of high performance computation technology, large eddy simulation and direct numerical simulation have already become one of the most important approaches in study of two-phase inter-phase interaction mechanisms. Numerical simulation based on mass point particle trajectory model and multi-way coupling model is mainly used to explore the particle dispersion by turbulence and turbulence modulation by particles. Particle fully-resolved direct numerical simulation provides more information of particle phase-vortex structures in particle wakes, which contains complete mechanisms due to the existence of finite-size particles. Focused on three basic flow prototypes, recent investigations on particle-laden turbulence mechanisms by means of large eddy simulation, direct numerical simulation and particle fully-resolved direct numerical simulation are reviewed in this paper.
