DETERMINATION OF FINISHED BRIDGE STATE OF SELF-ANCHORED SUSPENSION BRIDGE WITH SPATIAL CABLES

  • With respect to self-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cable, the procedures to determine the finished bridge state is illustrated. In view of the internal force equilibrium (especially bending moments) of the girder, the vertical component of suspender’s force was calculated. With the introduction of the fundamental analytical equations for spatial main cable shape and the method to calculate the vertical component of suspender’s force, the rapid method to find the shape of spatial cable in finished state was proposed. Moreover, the recursive formulas to calculate the changing stiffness of spatial cable were derived, and the procedures to find the shape of spatial main cable and calculate the parameters of suspender were given. The example of Jiangdong Bridge in Hangzhou proved that the proposed method is efficient and precise.
