DAMAGE-BASED NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF STEEL REINFORCED CONCRETE MEMBERS

  • The newly proposed constitutive and damage evolution laws of concrete depending only on material parameters is obtained. The damage constitutive law for steel by taking into account the plastic train development and buckling effect of steel is established for the accurate numerical model of steel reinforced concrete (SRC) members. The bond-slip relationship between steel and concrete is analyzed. An interfacial damage model is established to consider the effect of bond-slip on the mechanical character of members by combining bond and mechanical damages. Finally, SRC frame column specimens were analyzed by the finite element method under low cycle reversal loading. Compared with the experimental hysteresis curves, the computational results are found to be accurate. The material damage model inhere established can well reflect the change of mechanical character of SRC members, and supply a theoretical reference for the nonlinear numerical analysis of SRC structures under earthquakes.
