Abstract
Fatigue experiment of one specimen of a new type FRP-concrete composite deck was conducted to study its fatigue behaviors, and during the fatigue experiment a series of static experiments at key time point were also conducted. During fatigue experiment process, the failure modes , the deflection and developing process of concrete strains, steel plate strains, cracking as well as slippage of interface of the composite decks were all studied in detail. Especially, the dynamical response including maximum deflection, minimum deflection and remnant deflection of this specimen were accurately measured with an optical fiber deformation transducer. From the experimental study, the flexural rigidity and bearing-capacity of the specimen didn’t decreased significantly after undergone 3.1 million load cycles, from which it could be found that this type composite deck could behave well under fatigue load environment. it were also verified that the optical fiber deformation transducer measuring system could be used in accurately measuring dynamical deflections of bridge decks and bridge girders both in the laboratory and in the situ.
