Abstract
A new concrete-filled CFRP-steel tubular column system is introduced and the relationship and the difference between the short concrete-filled CFRP-Steel column and the short concrete-filled steel column are investigated. The experiment of the long concrete-filled CFRP-steel tube columns and the concrete-filled steel tube columns under axial compression was carried on. On these basis, the mechanical properties of the long concrete-filled CFRP-steel tube columns under concentrically compressed are studied and the increment ratio of the load bearing capacity due to the CFRP was improved; the influence of the slenderness ratio on the load bearing capacity of the specimens is analyzed; the equation is derived for estimating the stability strengths of the system and the calculated results accorded with the experimental results.
