NUMERICAL SIMULATION STUDY OF WIND LOAD ON LARGE HYPERBOLIC COOLING TOWER

  • Numerical simulation method is proposed to obtain the wind load on large hyperbolic cooling tower. The CFD simulation result of wind load on single tower was obtained and compared with the data of the Codes. The two sets of data agreed well, showing the rationality of CFD method to obtain the wind load on cooling tower. Small deviation was found and the reasons were analyzed. The scale effect and the influence of Reynolds number on the model were also investigated. The study of the interference effect on two adjacent cooling towers was also carried out and three different regions according to different wind azimuths were classified.
