Substructure method is an efficient method for the analysis of large structure systems.A substructure method by relaxing the restained nodes step by step,which is especially suitable for multi-storied buildings and towers,is introduced in detail.The program APRFUS using the proposed method and FORTRAN computer language for the analysis of plane rigid frames is illustrated simply.Methods of dividing a structure into substruc-tures are discussed.
