Abstract
The dynamic interaction between bridge and articulated high speed train is studied in this paper. A dynamic interaction model of the bridge-articulated train system is established, which is composed of a spatial articulated vehicle element model and a finite element bridge model. The vehicle element model is established according to the vehicle structure and the bogie suspension system of the articulated high speed train, while the total mass and stiffness matrices of the bridge model are directly generated from general structure analysis program and the site-measured rail irregularity is taken as the system excitation. As an example, the case of the Thalys articulated train passing through the Antoing Bridge on the Paris-Brussels high speed railway line is analyzed by computer simulation. The dynamic responses such as the deflections, vertical and lateral accelerations of the bridge and the accelerations of the running vehicles are calculated. The vibration properties of the articulated trains are discussed. The proposed analysis model and the solution method are verified through the comparison between the calculated results and the field experimental data.
