Abstract
A time domain method is developed to study buffeting dynamic properties of cable membrane structures under turbulent wind loads. Nonlinear dynamic equilibrium equations of cablemembrane structures under buffeting forces are derived and dynamic responses of such structure in time domain are obtained by Wilson-θ integral and Newton-Raphson method. Examples are provided to study the buffeting dynamic properties of membrane structures. The effects of structural parameters on frequencies of free vibrations of membrane structures are discussed. Frequency spectral properties of buffeting responses are analyzed and properties of buffeting responses for cablemembrane structures under buffeting forces are obtained.
