GENETIC EVOLUTIONARY STRUCTURAL OPTIMIZATION

  • Evolutionary structural optimization algorithm (ESO) is a newly advanced structural optimal algorithm used in many areas. In civil engineering, it acts as guides for designers to acquire the optimal topology configurations. Considering the innate lack of guaranteeing of the best solution in ESO, a new algorithm called genetic evolutionary structural optimization algorithm (GESO) in combination of genetic algorithm and evolutionary structural optimization algorithm is proposed to prevent time-consuming in genetic algorithm (GA) and easy falling into local optimum in ESO. Some examples are presented to validate the new method. The results are satisfactory.
