Abstract
The danger of galloping oscillation of a high-rise structure is not negligible. The precise time-integration is used in this paper to decide critical wind velocity of galloping oscillation of high-rise structures. Firstly, modal transformation is carried out to decouple the vibration equations. Then, the time history of structural response is computed by using precise time integration method. According to the logarithmic decrement of the time history response, the critical state is estimated. Finally, the validation of the present method is studied through an example in which the critical wind velocity of galloping oscillations of a high-rise structure with rectangular cross section is computed.
