STUDIES AND IMPROVEMENTS ON STRUCTURAL STATIC PUSHOVER ANALYSIS METHOD

In this paper, some limitations of structural static pushover analysis method are indicated after investigations on its physical meaning. The effects of second and third modes on the structural seismic response are considered. And the structure is treated as two different structures when transforming a MDOF system into equivalent SDOF system and processing SDOF system' time history analysis. Numerical example demonstrates that the result accuracy of the present approach has been improved significantly.
