CONTROL OF SEISMIC RESPONSE FOR CABLE-STAYED BRIDGE BASED ON MODAL ANALYSIS

  • Based on modal analysis, two algorithms to implement the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQRapproach and sliding mode control are presented. They are used to mitigate the seismic response of cable-stayed bridges. It is shown that the two algorithms are feasible and effective in the context of long-span bridges. Inaddition, the sliding mode control can achieve better control result than the LQR for less requirement of external energy.
