Abstract
Based on the principle of minimum potential energy, this paper presents a curved thin-walled box finite beam element method for curved thin-walled boxes. The shear lag and warping torsion effects are considered and a modified formula for bi-moment is proposed. To validate the present approach, an example of two-cell curved box beam is given. The numerical results of this paper agree well with the predictions of finite shell element method and experimental results.
