Abstract
The interaction of grouted anchor and its surrounding medium is a very complex problem. To obtain the stresses and the displacements on the interface between the anchor and its surrounding medium, the analysis of a circular cylinder under arbitrary axisymmetric loads should be done. In this paper a method for analyzing stress and displacement field of a cylinder loaded with arbitrary axisymmetric normal force and shear force is proposed, in which Fourier method is adopted and the coupling between arbitrary two terms of the Fourier series is considered. To verify the effectiveness of this method a theoretical solution for circular cylinder under uniform axially-symmetrical load is derived. The good agreement between the two methods confirms that the proposed approach is capable of predicting the stresses and the displacements for a cylinder under arbitrary axisymmetric loads, and the results possess higher accuracy if the coupling effect is considered.
