GENERALIZED INCREMENTAL ALGORITHM FOR NONLINEAR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS

A unified generalized incremental algorithm (GIA) is formulated herein in detail for the critical and non-critical points. The relationship between the basis of the null space for the augmented matrix and the incremental solution is established so that the incremental solution can be directly obtained from the basis of the null space. The nonlinear FEM based on GIA is implemented in Matlab IDE environment. Numerical results show that the algorithm is correct and effective.
