Abstract

In this paper, the characteristics of the viscoelastics dampers and the five commonly-used analytic models on viscoelastic dampers are discussed. A new model—the equivalent standard solid model is proposed which embodies the temperature and frequency effects. A numerical example is provided to validate the new model.
