INVERSE DYNAMIC ANALYSIS FOR MULTI-SLADS ON VISCOELATIC FOUNDATION

  • A finite element approach to the dynamic analysis of multi-slabs with discontinuities is presented. At the discontinuities, the slab interaction at the transverse joints is idealized by effective shear transfer. The viscoelastic foundation is modeled by distributed spring and linear spring and dashpot systems. The uniform dynamic force is recorded by the falling weight deflectometer (FWD), which has vertical components of velocity and acceleration. With the system identification method, an inverse algorithm in time domain is developed to determine the property parameters of multi-slabs. Numerical results show that system identification method is an efficient approach that converges quickly for a wide range of initial values of module. Therefore, it provides the basis of evaluating load-carrying capacity and conducting nondestructive measurement.
