DIRECT METHOD OF SIMULATING RESPONSE SPECTRUM OF EARTHQUAKE ACCELERATION

The method of simulating response spectrum of earthquake acceleration is studied in this paper. The direct formulas to compute responses are derived analytically by using a finite cosine series of earthquake acceleration bine history. Since the transformation from response spectrum to power spectrum and the iteration procedure of computation are avoided, the method needs less computing bine than conventional methods and is more precise and simpler. An example is given indicating that the method is very accurate.
