Abstract
In this paper, the potential and kinetic energy expressions for the suspension structure with story vibration absorption apparatus are derived. For the core tube, the derivation is conducted using the cubic B spline Finite Stripe Method in which the rigid plane assumption in the Vlasov theory is employed. For the suspension parts, the derivation is processed by applying FM method and the suspension system theory, respectively. The dynamic equations of the structure are set up using the Lagrange equation and the Wilson-θ Method is used to carry out time-history analysis of the dynamic responses of the structure under earthquake actions. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the good vibration-absorbing effect of the structure.
