VIBRATIONAL OPTIMAL HYBRID CONTROL FOR STRUCTURAL BUILDINGS

  • The anti-seismic control for nonlinear hysteretic structural buildings is investigated by means of hybrid control method, and an optimal control algorithm is presented. Sufficient condition for the optimal solution is examined also. In hybrid control,rubber-bearing isolation system is used as passive control, active tuned mass damper(ATMD) is used as active control,and the Wen model is used to describe the nonlinear behavior of restoring force in the considered structural building. Simulation results indicate that the hybrid control for structural buildings is superior to the passive control. In addition, the proposed hybrid control strategy is applicable to other type of hybrid control, such as the combination of active actuator and friction-type base isolation.
