THE ELEMENT-FREE METHOD FOR THE BENDING PROBLEM OF PLATES ON ELASTIC FOUNDATION

In this paper, the bending problem of plates on elastic foundation os studied by use of the Element-free method. The corresponding stiffness matrix of the plate is derived using a variational principle and the movingleast-squares method and a computer program is developed. Numerical examples show that the method is feasible and has a promising prospect in engineering practice .
