Abstract
A Line-spring model for an elliptic part-through crack in an infinite plate is established. The governing equations and the expression of stress intensity factor are formulated with integral transfer method. The numerical results of surface crack and embedded crack are presented and compared with that of finite element method or alternating method. It is shown that the results are in excellent agreement, indicating that the results of line-spring model for parthrough crack are reasonable and reliable.
