APPLICATION OF THE DUAL THEORY TO THE CFST STRUCTURE'S OPTIMIZATION DESIGN

This paper addresses the optimal design of arch bridge made from concrete filled steel tubes(CFST). The problem is converted into a dual one with the aid of transformation. The results show that the present method is simple, reliable and can be applied to the multi-variable optimization design of large structures.
