IMPROVEMENT AND DISCUSSION ON DESIGN OF FOUNDATION OF BUILDINGS

This paper addresses the foundation design between the two adjacent buildings. The drawbacks of current design method are pointed out and its inapplicability is shown in the provided case. To guarantee the reliablity of the foundation design a new design method is proposed in which reinforced concrete retaining wall is adopted. Cost-reduction of foundation between two adjacent buildings is also discussed in the paper.
