INCOMPATIBLE FINITE DYNAMIC ELEMENT METHOD FOR HIGHER ORDER PLANE ELEMENT

Based on energy formulation and with the inclusion of high order incompatible dynamic displacement, an incompatible formulation of finite dynamic element for higher order plane element is developed, a new higher order plane 8 node element (NDF8) is derived and numerically tested. It exhibits markable characteristic behavior with enhanced computational accuracy and easy to implement in dynamic structural analysis.
