With reasonable seismic wave, the dynamic earthquake resistant behavior of high-rise buildings with skirt structures was analyzed in the time domain. Three kinds of structure systems were selected for comparison, focusing on the effect of slipping bases underneath skirt buildings for improving the overall dynamic behavior. In order to obtain precise conclusion, the software was used for the analysis. It is found that the system adopting slipping bases decreases the bottom shear and the building displacement effectively, and the system with slipping bases without base beams demonstrates the best performance.
