APPLICATION OF THE WEIGHTED RESIDUAL METHOD TO SOLVE THE CYLINDRICAL SHELLS WITH ARBITRARY INITIAL GEOMETRICAL IMPERFECTIONS IN PARTIAL RANGES

  • Based on the conditions of engineering practices and the ranges of imperfections, the cylindrical shells are divided with partial arbitrary geometrical imperfections into several combinations within computating domains. By establishing the differential equations of each subdomain and the joint conditions within each domain and applying the weighted residual method, the combinations can be solved. The examples given in the paper tally with the corresponding literatures.
