ANALYSIS OF SEISMIC RESPONSE FOR QING PING CONCRETE-FACED ROCKFILL DAM

Based on the structural characterishcs and service conditions of Concrete-Faced Rockfill Dam (CFRD), the seismic response of Qing Ping CFRD is studied using non-linear dynamic FEM. Comparison is made between the results Under two different conditions: reservoirempty and reservoir-full. The anti-slide stability of the concrete face and the liquefaction of the sand in the dam foundation are discussed. Finally, the safety of the dam is appraised.
