AN EXACT SOLUTION OF LIQUID SLOSHING IN CYLINDRICAL AND ANNULAR TANKS WITH ARBITRARY CROSS-SECTIONS

Abstract
In this Paper. the sloshing characteristics of liquid in cylindrical and annular tanks with arbitrary cross-sections are studied. The frequency equation is derived by using the Fourier series collocation method to expand the velocity potential of the liquid along the wall of the tank. The natural frequencies are numerically evaluated by the method of searching root of determinant. It is shown that the present approach is exact and general.
