A NEW METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE STOCHASTIC FATIGUE LIFE OF COMPONENTS

  • Based on the information of the frequence zone of stochastic load history-the Power Spectral Density (PSD), a new calculaticn method for predicting the low cyclic fatigue life of components is proposed Using this method, the fatigue life prediction for loading components under random loading can be made directly from the knowledge of the Power Spectral Density(PSD) of stress history and strain fatigue properties of material Therefore, it has practical significance for Predicting the service life during the stage of structures and components design Finally, the adaptability of this method is verified in the prediction of the stochastic fatigue life of a notched component and the comparison with test results.
