GENERALIZED CONFORMING RECTANGULAR MEMBRANE ELEMENT WITH DRILLING FREEDOMS

Based on the concept of generalized compatibility, a rectangularmembrane element with drilling freedoms is formulated by introducinga generalized bubble displacement field on the basis of the bilinear conforming displacement field. Numerical results show that the present element converges and is well behaved.
