THE ANALYSIS OF TALL BUILDING TUBULAR STRUCTURES BY PLANE STRESS-FLOOR MODEL

Abstract
In this paper, the tubular structure of a tall building is simplified as a subarea plane stress problem. All walls and floors are combined to form a serial floor model. The potential energy formulation, the displacement compatibility and equilibrium equations of floors are utilizedtogether. The solution obtained is much better than that by finite element method or finite strip method.
