Abstract
An elasto-plastic damage fratcure model for bedded and jointed rock masses is studied in this paper. The damage tensors are definedthrough the equivalent flexibility tensor of the rock mass and the damage evolution laws are proposed involving the deformation and failure processes of rock slopes with the bedded and jointed rock masses. A constitutiverelation including the coupled behaviours of plastic flow in soft strata and damage fracturing in rock joints is developed. Finally, the proposed model is applied to the stability analysis of the left abutment slope in a hydro-power station during excavation.
