  • This paper presents an analysis of the small rigid-plastic deformation of an unsupported thin ring subjected to two equal and opposite impacts along a diameter by two rigid masses. Numerical examples are shown in order to make a comparison with the results on the basis of large deformation formulation[4] of the same problem, It is found that the set of dynamic equations of small deformation solution is different from that of large deformation solution[4].
