Abstract
This paper describes the results of experiments and analysis of thirty nine square R. C. slabs under short-term loading.The slabs are simply suppo-rted at all sides and reinforced with the cold-drawn low-carbon steel wires which are tied to the networks.For compavison of the behavior,six of the slabs are reinforced with soft-steel wires.The resurts show that a two-way cocnerete slab reinforced with cold-drawn wires can be safely designed by the yield-line method for the ultimate strength.And the serviceability of the slabs can also be satisfiend with the common design requiremens.Based on the experimentr,shis paper discuss the effect of membrane of the simply supprted slabs,and suggests a value of the design strength of cold-drawn low-carbon steel wires in two-way concrete slabs as a referegce for the version of the code and the designers.
