Abstract
For frames without side away, the error of natural frequencies obtained from the conventional finite element method may exceed 30% if each member of the frame is taken as a single element. In this paper a high-precision element with four degrees of freedom for frame vibration analysis is proposed. The natural frequencies calculated from the proposed method is very ac curate (error<0.2%) and the total degrees of freedom are the sama as that of the conventional finite elemet method.
