AFFECTING PRINCIPLE OF THE SELF SUPPORTING ROCK RING AROUND TUNNELS AND ITS BE ANALYSIS

The forming and affecting principle of the self supporting rock ring around tunnels is analysed in this paper. After slotting in surrounding rock of the circular and arch tunnel, the stress distribution is computed by BEM. The results indicate that it is possible to use the self supporting rock ring instead of the lining support.
