Abstract
A new approach for the global seismic capacity analysis of structures by combining multi-level force controlled Pushover analysis with the first order reliability method (FORM) together is proposed. The new approach is applied to R.C. frame structures by employing the finite element reliability module consisted in OpenSees, whose computational accuracy and efficiency is investigated by comparing with Monte Carlo simulation technique. The results demonstrate that the FORM finite element reliability method can estimate global capacity of structures accurately and efficiently, which offers another alternative for global probabilistic seismic capacity analyses.
