RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF DISASTER PREVENTION TECHNOLOGY IN GUANGDONG SCIENCE CENTER

  • The research and its application of disaster prevention technology in the design and construction work of Guangdong Science Center are introduced. The research includes the study of environmental geotechnical engineering, the technology for treatment of large-area soft soil, the art of seismic isolation, the structural health monitoring, the fire resistance and bearing capacity of giant steel structures, and the study of wind resistance of large-span shell structures. Based on theoretical and experimental results, the authors have put forward some new technique for the key problems in design and construction. The studies presented in the paper will provide valuable references for similar engineering.
